“The Great Explosion – Sandomierz and the Royal Castle in the fire of the Swedish Deluge”

Very unique workshops, as they are conducted by students of grades 5-7 from Primary School No. 2 in Sandomierz. The presenters will transport participants to the times of King Casimir the Great, tell about his connections with Sandomierz and plans to build a strong and safe kingdom.

A virtual journey to the end of the 18th century – a time of great challenges for Poland. The aim of the workshops is to introduce students to the topic of the Great Sejm and to show the role played by deputies and senators representing the Sandomierz province. “Towards ethnography – beliefs, traditions, and folk rituals in the Sandomierz region”
Divided by seasons – now autumn and occasional rituals and customs (baptism, wedding, funeral)
The workshops are a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich world of folk culture of our region. During the virtual meeting, participants will learn about ancient customs, rituals, and beliefs passed down from generation to generation. To contemporary audiences, many of these rituals and beliefs may seem amusing, surprising, and sometimes even absurd. It is this contrast between the old and today’s perspective that makes the workshops not only educational but also full of humor.
Ethnographic workshops will perfectly fit into the study of subjects such as: Polish language, history, social studies, art, technology, religion/ethics.
